Today Mitch and my dad took the boys out on their first fishing trip to Negro Bar at Folsom Lake. It was also the first time that the boys have been out on a boat, and even though Sutton was a little hesitant at first, they soon were both enjoying their time out on the water. They had a great day - if you ask Sawyer about it though, he's likely to tell you ALL about how the floating port-a-potties don't flush, and how they're the "most disgusting EVER." Since I wasn't there for all the fun (I was busy trying on bridesmaid dresses for Aunt Kari's wedding!), I'm going to let Mitch caption the pictures for me...

Trying on the lifejackets the night before.

We stopped at the bait shop (next door) on our way to the lake.

Just left the dock and into open water for the first time. Sawyer was thrilled. Sutton got used to the idea once we started to go fast.

After a short trip, we came to a cove where we anchored. Throw one piece of bread in the water and the geese come running.

Fortunately, we had lots of bread!
Happy to be out on the water.

Sutton and Sawyer loved seeing all the geese and ducks up close.

Sawyer is "quacking" back at the ducks.

We bring out the fishing poles and let the kids try. Granddad tried to teach them how to cast.

Sawyer gets the hang of reeling it back in, but still needs some work on the tossing it in part.

Sutton gets a turn too. His new favorite saying is "Sutton too."
The ride home. We had a great day on the lake!

All that fishing does tucker one out! These are so sweet. It looks like they had such a blast!
The boys look like they loved their fishing trip! My dad is planning to take my oldest daughter out fishing in a few weeks. They are both very excited! :-) Looks like lots of fun!
