Birthday Fun at Chuck E. Cheese

We celebrated Sawyer's 4th birthday last weekend with a party at Chuck E. Cheese and nine of his favorite friends and cousins. He had to have a Chuck E. party since his friend Walker had one this past November, and it was tons of fun. Fortunately, it was my kind of party - the kind where you just have to bring some cupcakes and show up. They had a party planner assigned to us, and she did everything from serving all the food to telling us when and where to go and what to do. Nice!

WARNING: This post is ridiculously photo heavy! Ya know, so you can all pretend like you were actually there with us (without having to have been suffocating in a crowd of two to seven year olds and masses of noise and flashing lights for three hours!)

Sawyer and the HUGE smile that he wore all day. He was incredibly proud of his birthday crown, and he wore it ALL day long...until he had to take it off at bedtime!

Back at home, it was time for presents!

Uncle Jim got him "my very own REAL shovel!" (which was truly the biggest hit of the day!)

Hattie got him this Curious George game and a really cool human body book set. He got tons of fun presents, and as soon as I am feeling a little better, we'll be sitting down to send everyone their special thank you notes! Thanks to everyone for coming and spending such a fun day with us! xoxo

Aunt Debby got Sawyer some really fun stuff for his birthday this year - a huge container of bubbles, an assorted pack of 25 bubble blowing thingys (some that I've never even seen before - SO cool!), and some really colorful fun bath stuff (foam soap, finger paints and tub tablets that change your bath water into bright colors). Of course, the very minute that he opened his present we had to head outside with all of the bubble makers...actually, he wanted to take the bath foam outside too, but I had to draw the line somewhere ;)

We had lots of fun trying all the different bubble wands and pipes. We blew bubbles for a loooooong time, and then when I turned my back on the kids for a minute to go answer the phone, they discovered that the could do THIS with the bubble pipe and the bowl of bubble solution...

Haha, busted!

They made a mountain of bubbles over and over again, challenging each other to see who could make the bigger bubble tower before it fell over (or before Sutton knocked it over!).

That night, Mitch gave the boys a bath and let them use their new bath stuff. I was resting in bed, and all I could hear was an insane amount of giggling and squealing, and I could smell the cherry bath foam from down the hallway and behind my closed door (I've got hyper-sensitive smell these days, ya know!)

From the looks of these pictures that Mitch took, I'm pretty sure they used the entire can of bath foam in one sitting!

Luckily we still have LOTS of bath tablets and about half the finger paint leftover for more bathtime fun!

Aerospace Museum of CA

February 6th was Free Musuem Day in Sacramento, and since I was stuck on the couch with all-day-morning-sickness, Mitch decided to take the boys to the Aerospace Museum at the old McClellan AFB location. The boys had a lot of fun hanging out with their Daddy and playing in and around all of the different kinds of aircrafts. Since I wasn't there, I'm not sure what else they did or what else to say about it LOL, so here are a few of the pictures from the day!

Quick Update

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update and an apology for being an absent non-blogger for most of the month of February.

I have a good reason, I swear...


You see...


I've been feeling a little less than perfect lately. I've spent a good deal of time curled up on the couch or in bed with a good book. I've spent very little time on the computer and way more time sleeping than a grown adult normally should.

While I've been away:

* My big boy turned FOUR (I can hardly believe it!) and we had a great birthday party for him.

* Mitch's parents visited us for a long weekend visit (and helped me out more than they probably even know!).

* The little guy worked on mastering his breakdancing skills.

* I got to meet my cousin's new baby boy, Valen, who is just two weeks old now.

* We've started to plan the layout of our 2010 fruit and vegetable garden - bigger and better version 2.0.

A lot has been happening, and I can't seem to keep up with it all right now. I promise that I will be back later to post some photos, especially of the birthday boy and his party, because that's what I do best.

I'm just so sleepy and out-of-it these days. All because...

Yep, that's right - baby #3 is on the way for the Kundin family - expected arrival in September! Now can y'all see why I'm so worn out these days? :)

Sawyer's First Ski Lesson

Mitch took Sawyer up to the mountains this weekend, and he had his very first ski lesson at Boreal! He had a semi-private lesson with two other kids - a girl who was pretty evenly matched with Sawyer's skills and a boy who could barely keep up on his feet. Sawyer had fun, but he got tired of having to "keep waiting forevvvvvvver" for the other boy who slowed down the whole group. I was amazed (and kind of horrified, I admit!) to watch video of him going up on the chair lift by himself, but Mitch said he did really well with it all. Sawyer already considers himself a pro now, and he's determined that next time he will be trying snowboarding (even though you actually have to be seven before you can take snowboarding lessons). Maybe his Daddy will just have to give him a private snowboard lesson!


The guys had some time to kill before the lesson started, so they hit up Boreal's tubing park for a little while:

He was doing great until the slow kid took him out LOL!

By the end of the day he was exhausted!
