A Blue Spikey Weekend

Saturday mid-day was spent at Tangles for Kids Salon - Sawyer's up first

He got to play a Cars racing game on the GameCube while he got his haircut. He was sooo excited to finally be allowed to touch a video game controller since they're usually off-limits at our friends houses, and the fact that it was a Cars game was just an added bonus. This kiddo has no problem with getting his hair cut - thank goodness!

The end result - "spikeys," naturally.

Yes, they are very, VERY blue ("it's just washable gel" said the hair lady...but it was soooo hard to wash out!)

Mr. Crazy Curls anxiously awaiting his turn in the chair...

There's not much you can do to get this little guy to want to get his hair cut. Even lollipops and race cars didn't entice him to stay in the chair.

He especially hates the clippers. Poor little Sutton.

As soon as he was out of the chair he was thrilled with his new haircut and kept checking himself out in the mirror. I absolutely love his crazy curls, but I'm thrilled not to have to wrestle with him and a spray bottle to tame them in the morning now.

Sawyer & I took a Mommy-and-me bike/scooter ride to feed the ducks. According to Saw, "the ducks aren't paying attention to me" so they missed out on eating our old bread, but he was still thrilled to find a quarter along the bike trail!

We unloaded a whole truck full of dirt into our first garden bed, one wheelbarrow full at a time.

The hard working guys

Giving it a quick hose down to compact the soil. It's almost ready to plant now!
