This week we've pretty much been stuck inside the house on self-imposed quarantine because the boys and I are still working on getting over this neverending bad cold. At the end of the week now, the boys are pretty much back to their normal selves, but they both have a lingering hacking cough that is especially nasty in the mornings. Needless to say, we spent a lot of time in our jammies and comfy clothes this week inventing new things to play and do.
Sawyer sorting a new set of beads into different colors
Sutton working with the new nesting panda doll set that I ordered him - directly from a Mr. Ding Dong Feng in Shangahai, China (let's hope it doesn't contain too much lead paint ;))
We experimented with using an eye dropper and food coloring water to paint coffee filters
And we got even more scientific by adding yellow to our blue spots and making them turn green
It's "snowing" inside our house - this is awesome!
Sutton clapped his shaving cream covered hands together one little time, and it immediately morphed from a calm and peaceful morning activity to an all-out shaving cream fueled lesson in velocity and distance. I had to throw both kids into the tub for a quick mid-day bath, and then I cleaned shaving cream off of the floor, chairs, walls, door and table for well over an hour! They sure had a lot of fun though, and that's really what it's all about anyway!
Sawyer has been having fun riding his "R2V" around the house this week since it's mostly been too rainy to take it outside. He's been giving tandem rides...
...and he's even learned that riding while standing up is soooo much better - just ask him and he'll tell you that this is his "New Cool Trick"

Our "Picture People" Moment: Sawyer, Sutton & Hattie
Hattie's been sick and quarantined these past two weeks also, so today Holly and I finally had enough of being stuck inside our houses and in a rut, and decided that we needed to have some adult conversation for awhile, even if it meant letting the kids little germs mingle for awhile. We spent most of the morning outside anyway ;) She brought over some supplies for us to make Coke bottle and wooden spoon bird feeders to hang on our trees in the backyard, and the kids had fun using the funnel to get the birdseed into their feeders. Truly, that's about the only part they got excited over, but Holly and I had a good time making them anyway! Now maybe we'll get lucky and a few birds will manage to find their way into our backyard. It feels so strange not having tons of birds and squirrels here like there are at my parent's house where I grew up.
