Friday started with Sawyer spewing forth his typical "I want to make a project," so we decided to make some tp roll flowers that we had seen on some craft blog or another. Ambitiously we started with the intent of making them for everyone Sawyer named off, "Only all the girls, no boys: Gigi, Krissa, Stelly Bear, Aunt Debby...and maybe Grandma Ardy, but not Grandma Carol cause hers will get all squished up." By age three he's already learned the perils of what will and won't survive a trip through the post office :) We started with six tp rolls, four foam brushes, two paint smocks and three colors of paint...
I should have known it would NEVER stay so calm and clean
It soon looked like Sawyer was a merry murderer
and Sutton, well...he topped our previous "Messiest Paint Day EVER" by a mile. I had to dunk the kid's whole head under the faucet when we were finished. Luckily Crayola washable paints are truly super washable, at least off of skin.
I banished them outside so that I could get the rest of the mess cleaned up, which is truly one of the best part about having two kids - they're now at an age where I can send them outside for awhile, and they'll have fun with each other...as long as I can keep an eye on them. When I let them out of my sight for two minutes, this is what happens:
Sawyer unloaded each and every 2x4 off of Mitch's sawhorses (and then bragged to me about how strong his muscles are!)
Then he pulled one all the way onto the grass to demonstate his balance beam skills
We're definitely going to have a t-ball summer this year!
I figured we hadn't made enough messes yet, so we made some chocolate covered strawberries and bananas for snack time.
"Look, Mom, I'm being Batman"
"Me do!"
